Aero Air is the parent company of Erickson Aero Tanker (EAT). EAT operates year-round firefighting operations - USFS MAP (Mandatory Assignment Period) dates can fluctuate from year to year based on allocations and fire conditions.

We are seeking experienced Aerial Firefighting Tanker Pilots to join our team!

MD-87 Pilot in Command

Requirements:

  • Airline Transport Pilot or Commercial Certificate with Instrument Rating (Multiengine Land).
  • Current First or Second-Class medical.
  • Minimum 4,000 hours Total Flight Time.
  • Minimum 2,000 hours Pilot in Command (airplane).
  • Minimum 200 hours multiengine PIC.
  • Minimum 100 hours multiengine PIC in aircraft greater than 12,500 lbs.
  • Minimum 200 hours low level (typical terrain).
  • Minimum 100 hours PIC in the preceding 12 months.
  • Heavy jet type rating.
  • Previous or current USFS AKP or AKI rating.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Flexible schedule with ability to travel.

Preferred:

  • Current Initial Attack rating.
  • DC-9 type rating.

MD-87 Second in Command

Requirements:

  • Airline Transport Pilot or Commercial Certificate with Instrument Rating (Multiengine Land).
  • Current First or Second-Class medical.
  • Minimum 1,000 hours Total Flight Time.
  • Minimum 500 hours Pilot in Command (airplane).
  • Minimum 200 hours multiengine time.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Flexible schedule with ability to travel.

Preferred:

  • Jet type rating.
  • Previous USFS air tanker experience.
  • Low level time.

The above positions also require:

  • High School Diploma/GED and required certifications listed above.
  • Valid U.S./state issued driver's license with clean driving record
  • Valid Passport, or ability to obtain a valid passport.
  • Maintains reliable, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Adhere to all Aero Air policies and standards of conduct.
  • Other duties as assigned.
