Business Unit Manager (1041-D)

Position Summary The Business Unit Manager is responsible for the general oversight of a cross-functional team and related equipment within a cell / flow line environment. Essential Functions Part tracking, priority scheduling, completion commitments, monthly output forecasting and expedite coordination. Area interface and coordination with supporting functions throughout the facility. Area performance monitoring, reporting and implementing improvement opportunities. Scrap reduction, root cause / corrective action and process mistake-proofing. Lead and/or participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects. Cross-train as necessary to enhance area skills matrix and minimize machine downtime. Manage changing constraints across the cell / flow line.  Competencies and Skills Strong ability to lead a cross-functional team. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read blueprints and operations sheets. Machining or QA background a plus. Experience and Education Minimum of 5 years of aerospace operations supervision is required. High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred. Supervisory Responsibility Overall responsibility for employees in a production line.   Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
