- BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and fifteen (15) years of direct engineering experience in the aerospace industry with specific demonstrated technical expertise in relevant design and/or analytical areas such as structures, thermal, or electromechanical systems
- Technical team leadership experience and spacecraft project review experience is required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, be able to work in a team, and develop cooperative relationships with NASA and commercial partners
- Strong structural, mechanical system, and or opto-mechanical design experience including familiarization with design and analysis tools and testing methods
- Experience with NASA mechanical, optics, laboratory, and safety standards and their application
-Experience with vacuum chambers and optical testing in vacuum chambers.
-Familiarity with lasers and interferometers.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status (Green card holder) required.
Work environment and physical demands:
Periodic work requiring extended periods (2-4 hours) of walking and standing in lab, clean room and integration and test environments.
Periodic work in a clean room suit including head cover, face mask, gloves booties (full “bunny suit”).
Periodic shift work working as part of a team to provide support during critical test phases.
