Overview

Aerojet Rocketdyne is currently seeking a Material Planner to join our team in Stennis, MS. In this role, you will be part of our Scheduling and Material Planning organization which works across the whole company and plays a key role from proposal to product delivery. We are looking for a highly analytical, self-motivated, and organized individual. Candidates will work in a dynamic position with a diverse product range.

This current opening may be filled at this level as posted or at one level higher.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

Working under general supervision:

 

50% - Review Material Requirements Plan (MRP); problem-solve exception messages. Release Supplier Requisitions and Shop Orders for both Bill of Material (BOM) and independent demand requirements. Identify and initiate Program Inventory Surplus/Close Out.

30% - Support Senior Analyst. Analyze program demand, create requisitions, maintain horizontal plan or line of balance for consumable items, initiate material transfers, create new Part Numbers, and other as required tasks.

20% - Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned to support the specific program effort.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management/Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or other related discipline and at least 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency or other status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement. Individual must be able to obtain and maintain NASA Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) security clearance.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Analytical thinking and problem solving skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-function/cross-site teams.

  • Operations, Procurement, Scheduling and Engineering Value Stream experience, or demonstrated willingness to learn.

  • Willingness to learn Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) such as Delmia, ASCP, Oracle Enterprise Business Suite, MS Office.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior Oracle/Delmia/Windchill Experience.

  • American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) Certification.

  • Demonstrated Lean Experience or Certification.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto.  May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat.  These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
