Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies Company, is seeking a Principle, Manufacturing Engineering. this positions plays a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of rocket motor manufacturing operations. This role leads technical projects, advises on advanced manufacturing methods, and ensures adherence to safety and quality standards. With a solid foundation in engineering theory and practice, the Principle drives continuous improvement initiatives and fosters cross-functional collaboration for project success.
Essential Functions
- Plan, conduct, and technically direct projects to support rocket motor manufacturing operations, coordinating technical support staff.
- Develop and implement production process models to optimize manufacturing capabilities and ensure alignment with quality benchmarks.
- Serve as a technical advisor, applying advanced theories, concepts, and principles to address technical challenges.
- Utilize Six Sigma principles to plan methods, evaluate data, and develop innovative approaches to manufacturing problems.
- Mentor less experienced engineers, facilitating technology transfer and knowledge sharing within the organization.
- Stay updated on new scientific methods and developments, recommending process improvements and changes.
- Conduct analyses and studies to address complex manufacturing issues, making and implementing decisions to impact company operations.
- Serve as an organizational consultant on specialized projects, leveraging expertise in manufacturing engineering.
Additional Duties:
- Winding Program Implementation (NGI DACs & NGI S1 & S2):
- Lead the implementation of winding programs into production, ensuring seamless integration and addressing any process improvements that arise.
- GMLRS Insourcing of Case Winding & Cure:
- Spearhead the development of new processes utilizing existing equipment, including conducting trials, arranging vendor visits, and creating manuals and processes for supplemental training of the current ME Wind Team Staff.
Requirements
Requires mastery level knowledge within a specific technical area or multiple job areas. Viewed as an expert and/or resource within the field by peers in and outside the organization. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
