What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cooker Operator Day Shift position at Aerotek?
Fully understand the principles of the continuous cooker's
functions
Fully understand the principles of the tempering band and
cooling station and their functions
Fully understand and navigate the touch screen controls,
push button switches and operator panels for the entire cooking process of
equipment and understand the effects of changes AND their interrelationship
Responsible for the correct operation of the proper cooking
process flow of equipment, including the Hamilton kettles, batching system,
continuous cooker, and tempering band
Responsible for the verification of ingredients being used
in production and that the ingredients are of good quality within tolerances
set forth in the batch record
Responsible for all processing documentation that is
associated with product being produced and that the information therein is
accurate and legible
Responsible for the quality of products being produced on
the line, ensuring all dosages, set points, temperatures, and any other
parameters set forth in batch records are being strictly adhered to with
minimal variance
Must be mechanically inclined and be in constant search of
any mechanical issues that may impede production
Responsible for the daily lubrication, cleaning, upkeep of
the equipment train and reporting of any machinery defects to Engineering
Ensure steam, pneumatic, and electrical systems for the
train are in sound mechanical condition and are operating efficiently
Must be able to change products on the run with minimal
waste and with no cross-contamination
Must be able to effectively communicate all issues with
supervision, QA and QC
Responsible for ensuring surrounding work area is clean and
cGMP compliant at ALL times
Understand and utilize the correct hand tools needed for
tasks (AVOID the use of pliers, adjustable wrenches, hammers or anything that
causes damage to equipment)
Plan ahead and communicate upcoming product changes with
affected personnel and verify needed supplies are on hand
Perform detailed cleaning as needed and as required per
cGMP's
Follow LOTO Policy and procedures to ensure that machines or
equipment are isolated from all potentially hazardous energy before performing
cleaning, service, or maintenance activities where they may be an unexpected energization,
start-up, or release of stored energy.
Read a refractometer and pH meter
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to complete all required documentation
(includes, but is not limited to, batch records, log books, notebooks, raw data
(charts, graphs, scans, etc.), validation protocols, labels and cGMP-related
forms).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:
High School Diploma or GED
6 months Machine operator experience, or Certified
Production Technician through NCMI
Willing and able to clean and sanitize machines
Frequently moves/lifts raw material/equipment weighting 35
to 50 lbs. around the plant floor or overhead.
Must be open to work any shift that is necessary depending
on the business needs - Flexibility in adjusting shift schedule
Must be able to remain in a standing position up to 85% of
the time
Basic computer knowledge (must be able to log on and
complete required cGMP SOP training and email
Constantly working in a high temperature environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1 year Machine operator experience,
In the pharmaceutical industry
Prior Manufacturing experience
FDA experience
Certified Production Technician through NCMI
