What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elevator Technician position at Aerotek?
Description:
This individual will be responsible for traveling to various facilities regionally (Michigan, Ohio and Indiana). Majority of work is in the commercial setting but some residential. They only work M-F but they can be gone 2-3 days at a given time to complete the projects. They are offered Per Diem for all Travel Costs (Food, Gas and Stay). They will use a company vehicle to travel to the various locations and work in teams. Majority of the work consist of installation, tear downs, new construction, elevator repairs, maintenance and scheduled service of various elevators at client sites such as commercial elevators, freight elevators, traction elevators, and chair lifts. Examples of service will range from checking safety circuits and fire service testing, repairing open relays, PLC troubleshooting and maintenance and repairs of motors, including teardowns and replacements. They will not be working on residential assignments until they go direct with the client. 1st Shift: Hours are typically 7-3:30PM M-F. With that being said with the nature of the business there will be times they will have to stay late to complete a project due to project deadlines. So they need to understand that from time to time they need to work later.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Must: -Mechanical aptitude with hydraulics - Customer Service focused (they will have customer interface) - Clean driving record (they will drive the company vehicle) - Use of hand tools - Prior experience doing equipment installation or maintenance work - Be able to lift up to 75 pounds Plus: - Military Experience -Elevator mechanic prior - Wind Turbine Program at KVCC - Field Service Technician prior DQ: -If they've worked for the competition (Otis, Schindler, etc.) it's usually a red flag because their competitors are union environments and those types of folks don't like working for a non union elevator company and eventually try to start a union at McNally which is not good all around. These candidates aren't immediately disqualified, however, we just need to vet them properly. -Not willing to travel or stay overnight for multiple days. -Also not willing to stay late to complete a job
