Assistant to the Shop Supervisor Job Description:
The Assistant to the Shop Supervisor is to assist the Shop Supervisor in the following functions, as well as perform maintenance on customer equipment and the maintenance facility in the assigned shop. Some functions require training and qualification. He or she will report to the Shop supervisor.
1.
Train and assist his/her subordinates in proper procedures, methods and practices to be followed in the maintenance of aviation equipment, shop equipment and in emergency and safety situations.
2.
Ensure that all shops have the required Overhaul Manuals, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives and any other required technical data to accomplish the work, that the technical data is properly used, and ensure that the data used is current.
3.
Maintain all shop and emergency equipment in a serviceable and working condition.
4.
Ensure that calibrated tools are maintained and removed from service when out of calibration.
5.
Ensure that all necessary work records are properly executed by the responsible technician (s).
6.
Keep the premises of the Repair Station clean and orderly.
7.
Ensure that all parts are properly handled while in the repair process.
8.
Ensure that all units or parts are properly preserved during process through the shop and after completion, including adequate measures to prevent contamination from other nearby work processes.
9.
Initiate requisitions for stock and materials as required.
