What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Tender/Operator position at Aerotek?
Description:
Candidates will be working in 1 of a few areas in Soy sauce production however each area includes monitoring and running manual and cnc equipment, troubleshooting issues, and consistent lifting and handling of materials
All Operator roles require performing their own quality control procedures as the machine is running, and doing inspection when machines are stopped. They will monitor both the equipment for manual adjustments and quality on the final product which requires checks throughout the runs.
Based on department, quality checks could occur every few minutes however temperature, pressure, speed, heat, humidity etc. are all important in the Soy sauce manufacturing process.
All roles require a substantial amount of walking, and even climbing stairs to the second level as much of their process is managed from the second level and elevator systems bring the soy beans down to a lower level.
Candidates will not be in a standard operating role standing at a machine as their equipment is very different: From a very long bottling line to silos, vessels, and lift systems that store soy beans, cook soy beans, and prepare the soy each step of the process - none of these roles are stagnant positions.
Bottling Line- Just as it sounds, it's a filling area and currently a Manual system that will eventually be CNC operated and require less manpower however currently it labels, and moves the bottles along to be filled with soy sauce. This process can be a messy one if the product isn't dispensing correctly, or if labels aren't coming out correctly or being placed accordingly. Boxes will be manually flipped at the end of the process, troubleshooting and doing consistent lifting. Will be putting large rolls on the machine for labels, and assisting in boxing and labeling at the end of the process
Prep Area: Candidates will cook the Soy beans and this is a very wet and dirty process. They will monitor the 2 story vessels the beans are placed in, clean up their area constantly as humidity causes mold and mold will form around stairs, railings and around vessels so they must be okay to work with hoses, water and rags regularly to clean up. At the start of this process, candidates will be unloading trucks, scaling product from the trucks and siloing (filtering) raw product from trucks into tanks, vessels and soak tanks inside. Candidates will work with screens and wash a lot of materials at the end of each shift as the process puts off a lot of steam. (This is the hottest and most humid in the facility)
Press Area: Candidates will work in the area to physically handle the cooked soy beans on the second level and work with an elevator system to move product to the first level. Candidates will be working in a dirty role, handling cloths and setting them on top of the beans as they are lowered down, placing a cloth every 10 seconds or so on o anew batch. These roles are working with washing machines and dryers, and the areas are hot, muggy and slippery as they move freshly cooked product.
Transfer Area: Candidates must be able to multi-task and move quickly from step to step as this is the busiest area. Candidates will transfer liquid from tank to tank, blend materials, add water, brine, alcohol and other ingredients and is a key role in the facility with little to no supervision.
Candidates must be autonomous in the Transfer roles as there are other areas that require more manpower and therefore more attention from more staff.
