Description:
Aerotek's client is looking to add a mechanical assembler/motor technician to their team in Evansville, IN. Candidates will be responsible for assembling/building mechanical fixtures and motor components within Evansville HQ. This will include reading blueprints and utilizing basic hand tools to fully assemble/troubleshoot the equipment. This equipment is being built for a wide array of industries. Locally, Aerotek's clients supports companies like Alcoa, coal mines & other manufacturing facilities. The mechanical tech will be responsible for reading blueprints and assembling all mechanical components of the equipment. All work will be completed in the Evansville shop. Will work directly with the ops. manager/shop lead/engineers/welders/electricians, to ensure that all mechanical components of the equipment are assembled within specifications.
Mechanical Technician:
- Read blueprints to fully understand mechanical layout of specific equipment
- Utilize hand tools, fasteners & other components to fully assemble/build equipment to specifications
- Troubleshoot unforeseen problems with assembly(wrong sized parts, design flaws, etc.)
- Communicate with electrical, welding & engineering teams to work through unforeseen problems with product assembly
- Basic installation of wiring on certain equipment if they have previous experience with that. If so, they will also need to have electrical schematics knowledge
- The Technician WILL NOT be connecting motors to live electric sources-that is handled by other departments at a later time
