Description:
The primary role of the PM Technician is to ensure all Machines and Support Equipment operations are maintained through effective performance of monitoring operational machine and Support Equipment, preventative maintenance programs to include PdM, repair breakdowns, and assist Blow Mold Technicians and Print Mechanics as necessary. The PM Technician must be able to read schematics, isolate equipment issues, remove/replace failed machine components and determine failure modes by studying worn/failed components and/or machine reports. The PM Technician must be able to adhere to all safety standards set forth in the facility. The PM Technician should be able to identify and report any unsafe conditions to management. This position reports to the Plastics Maintenance Supervisor and will also work closely with the Shift Supervisor, Plastics Department and Quality Department while maintaining a professional working relationship with all team members in the facility. Considered SMEs after 1 year for all equipment operations to be the trainer 1. Responsible for Safety, LOTO, and Quality on a higher level by being an Ambassador of the Company Rules. 2. Responsible for overall operation and preventative maintenance aspects for Blow Molding and Support Equipment machines and peripheral devices. 3. Troubleshoot to identify root cause; make repairs necessary; assist BM Technician and Print Mechanics to reduce downtime. 4. Responsible to assist with all necessary equipment being energized and ready for Production following an extended shutdown period. 5. Setup Equipment and define Centerlines; accordingly, utilize and develop BM Technician and Print Mechanics during Centerline initiatives. 6. Access, understand, monitor, and correct conditions causing machine/equipment/material/building alarms. 7. Assist with the performance of machine/associated equipment changeovers. 8. Operate material supply equipment (tilt plates, hoppers, conveyors, dryers, and rails) 9. Maintain accurate documentation. 10. Assist with developing Streamline processes, operational job aids, and troubleshooting job aids. 11. Perform critical equipment mechanical issues that impede performance throughout the Shift and respond to the standard work order process for non-critical issues. Work with the Supervisor for identifying down time opportunities.
