What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Technician position at Aerotek?
Aerotek is urgently hiring, Production Technicians / Extruder Operators in a plastic facility
2nd and 3rd shift available
Description:
Principal Duties:
- Reports to Production Supervisor
- Communicate with production personnel at shift change
- Able to trouble shoot formulations
- Able to operate all production machinery (extruders, pelletizers, blenders, feeders etc.)
- Able to trouble shoot lines: line surging, pumping vent, foamy pellets wet strands, line backing up, increasing line rate
- Operate extrusion lines and downstream equipment
- Create production batches per supplied formulation
- Monitor and log readings/events for extrusion equipment and production runs
- Maintain clean and safe work areas in and around equipment during shift
- Monitor visual quality test results of finished product
- Move materials as required to perform job
- Perform line cleans between production lots
- Support, Initiate, and comply to Safety Programs
- Perform all functions in adherence to ISO 9001 guidelines
- Perform other duties as requested

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Must Haves:
- Team Player, gets along well with other employees
- 1yr years forklift experience (sit down)
- Reliable transportation
- Able to work independently to run a extrusion line
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Extremely attentive to detail
Nice To Haves:
- Forklift operator 2 - 5 years experience, certified
- Proficient using Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications
- Familiar with IS0 9001 standard
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Extremely attentive to detail
- Strong math, statistics and writing skills
- Plastics extrusion experience
