The AES Clean Energy (AESCE) team is seeking a motivated Senior Compliance Analyst to support operations, engineering, and grid integration in complying with NERC Operations & Planning (O&P) Generator Owner and Generator Operator Standards for AES Clean Energy's rapidly growing renewable portfolio. The candidate will be responsible for assisting AES Clean Energy teams in implementing compliance programs and ensuring compliance for the rapidly growing new and operational fleet. This is an exciting opportunity to join the renewable energy industry and expand your NERC O&P compliance skills.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of AESCE's NERC O&P Compliance Program for the growing and existing generating portfolio with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in operations, engineering, and grid integration.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to document and create internal controls including desk-level procedures, overall processes, flowcharts, and training.
  • Implement new NERC O&P standards and standard updates within the AESCE compliance program.
  • Create, update, and review compliance documentation for NERC O&P Standards in collaboration with internal and external resources.
  • Monitor and participate in standard updates that affect inverter-based resources. Prepare the AESCE fleet for compliance with these updates.
  • Ensure completion of compliance deliverables correctly and within deadlines for new generation projects and for operational projects by managing project teams and consultants.
  • Serve as a liaison between technical resources and the NERC compliance legal team to implement a strong compliance program.
  • Review tasks within task tracking systems and ensure tasks support compliance for operations, engineering, and grid integration teams.
  • Ensure executed contracts support NERC O&P Compliance.
  • Lead consultant resources and track consultant deliverables for NERC O&P requirements.
  • Review compliance documentation from an auditor's perspective. Provide feedback to project teams and consultants on clearly demonstrating compliance with requirements.

Desired Skills and Expertise:

  • 5-10 years of experience in compliance
  • 5-10 years of experience with NERC GO/GOP O&P Standards
  • Background in auditing and compliance
  • Bachelor's degree

Required Skills and Expertise:

  • Excellent communicator.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster communication between internal and external teams to support an outcome.
  • Personal values consistent with those of the AES Corporation; Safety First, Highest Standards, and All Together.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office tools and cloud-based document management systems.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including an ability to maintain calm and effective exchanges with all parties - internal and external.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Project management background.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize project teams to deliver projects within deadlines.
  • Technical writing/Documentation abilities.
  • Ability to successfully work remotely and independently, away from an office environment or direct supervision, for extended periods of time.

Job Location & Details:

  • Reports to Manager, Generator Modeling & Technical Compliance.
  • Role will be based out of Salt Lake City, UT (preferably) or Louisville, CO. Remote option available dependent on experience.
  • Travel is expected to be minimal.
