About the Role
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading a team of Maintenance Supervisors and Technicians. Supports lithium-ion battery production by ensuring equipment uptime improvements while also achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with an emphasis on Improving Safety and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) while reducing equipment downtime while achieving critical cost reductions/increases to profitability. Works with plant leadership, develops, reviews, and tracks maintenance budgets and implements maintenance strategies. Evaluates maintenance policies and procedures and provides project coordination of equipment installation, debugging and program launches.
What You Will Do
- Develops, trains, and audits maintenance management activities to ensure standardization, efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Develop standardized KPI metrics for continuous improvement throughout all levels of the maintenance organization.
- Supports Global benchmarking activities for technical and management improvements.
- Oversees technical training requirements and development. Assists in developing budgets and project details.
- Supports training for new equipment installations, maintainability, and continuous improvement.
- Reviews and approves expense reports, P-card purchases and participates in the selection of potential vendors to assist in various maintenance related activities.
- Develops project schedules and provides project coordination for equipment specification, training, shipping, installation, debug, and program launch.
- Monitors safety performance and facilitates implementation of actions to improve safety performance. Proactive in identifying and addressing safety concerns before an accident occurs.
- Manages contract service groups consisting of technical and maintenance management training. Ensures control of cost and quality of service.
- Manages safety performance, develops capital expenditure justifications, participates in daily, weekly, and monthly OEE meetings and institutes countermeasures to the top technical issues.
- Conducts staff meetings and positively leads the team to achieve all Key Performance Indicator goals and implements the continuous improvement mindset.
- Leads the team to achieve the Systematic Cause Analysis Technique (SCQT) metrics and supports AESC’s goals/objectives.
- Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards.
- Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standards.
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related discipline or technical field preferred.
- 2-5 years Supervisory experience, providing leadership, coaching, guidance, and training and contributing to staff development. Supervised subordinates or contractors with differentiated roles. Subordinate positions carried several different titles. Functions, though similar in objective, were distinct.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft suite and other PC applications to produce non-standard, creative products.
- Ability to recognize safety concerns
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Problem Solving skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines

- Advanced Certifications: Possession of advanced certifications in Six Sigma principles while not mandatory, would be a strong asset, showcasing a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Proficiency in additional languages beyond English is advantageous, as it aligns with our global operations and enhances communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Previous experience working in cross-cultural environments, or a demonstrated understanding of cultural nuances would be beneficial, given our global presence and diverse team.
- Experience or familiarity with the dynamics of start-up environments, showcasing an ability to thrive in agile and fast-paced settings.
Travel
Occasional domestic and international travel required.
