Position Summary:
The Product Manager is the internal and external evangelist for the product offering! The Product Manager’s position ensures that the product category supports the company’s overall strategy and goals. The Product Manager is responsible for all the elements of execution throughout the product lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with Sales to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. To be successful, the Product Manager will invest time and travel in the market to understand needs and issues in order to identify relevant target customers and implement successful go-to-market strategies.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experience in a wholesale building materials environment preferred
- Experience managing and launching products, specifically Hardware
- Demonstrated ability to identify, communicate and achieve sales goals
- Willing to become part of a team environment working with many departments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet challenging deadlines
- Excellent follow up skills
- College degree or relevant work history
- Computer literate, willing to learn new systems
Tier one job duties:
- Develop and create product category strategy
- Overall product sales management with focus on customer engagement and creating programs to deliver new growth
- Creation, maintenance, and follow-up as needed on general and master quotes
- Develop rewarding market specific campaigns and sales incentives to drive product growth
- Lead new product launch
- Review and adjust site or product specific customer pricing (master quotes)
- Manage special quotes and maintain 24 hour response
- Lead in product training
- Presence at all branch markets; purposeful joint calls with sales reps
- Develop relationship with top customers and strategic accounts in each branch market
- Utilize CRM for all customer activities
- New product evaluation
- Establish quarterly and annual product sales and profit goals
- Assist Pricing Manager maintaining product price structures
- Develop and maintain relationships with product category suppliers and relevant industry associations
- Participate in customer, supplier, and industry events
- Develop inventory strategy to ensure appropriate stock levels to meet market needs and company ROI
- Regularly evaluate slow-moving and discontinued inventory to identify and remove from product line
- Assist/Backup Purchasing Manager as needed / requested
