Your day-to-day work will include:

Support a Department of Energy (DOE) Client in the design, implementation, and management of cloud infrastructure and services. The successful candidate will drive cloud adoption across labs, including continuously building and enhancing foundational cloud capabilities and delivering end-to-end cloud deployment processes. Support team in optimizing their project efforts using cloud best practices and enterprise standards. Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues, communicate and document procedures, and recommend architectural changes when necessary.

Duties and expectations include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Cloud Platform Expertise (with AWS, GCP, and/or Azure)
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Networking and Security
• Cloud Services
• Scripting and Automation
• DevSecOps Practices
• Troubleshooting and Performance Optimization

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Mandatory:

• 10-15 years of related professional experience implementing Cloud services in a variety of distributed computing environments and leading highly available and web-scale software deployments
• Demonstrated experience in supporting production, testing, integration, and development environments
• Experience architecting AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Solutions with certification
• Demonstrated experience with Web Server Configurations
• Demonstrated experience with various database solutions
• Experience implementing and designing cloud-native security concepts or DevSecOps
• Experience developing cloud-native CI/CD workflows and tools, such as GitRunner, Code Deploy (AWS), and/or GitLab

Preferred:

• Experience working in an agile environment
• Demonstrated experience in performing root cause analysis in complex and distributed environments
• Experience with Business Intelligence tool administration, including experience creating user roles/permissions, plugin deployment, SDK integration, etc.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, using CloudFormation or other tools
• Hands-on experience with microservices and distributed application architecture, such as containers, Kubernetes, and/or serverless technology
• AWS Certification(s) such as Solutions Architect Professional or Associate, DevOps Engineer Pro, SysOps Admin, Developer Associate

Education Requirements:

Mandatory: BA/BS degree and subject matter certifications

Work hours:

Here at Aeyon we believe in creating an environment that fosters a healthy work/ life balance. The typical day consists of a 9-5 Monday-Friday work schedule totaling 40 hours per week, but we do realize that life happens, and things come up. Many of our positions allow some flexibility in the work schedule for unforeseen events so that our employees can maintain a 40-hour work week and still have the opportunity to meet other obligations during the workday.

Security Clearance:

For most positions at Aeyon, a candidate must have or be able to obtain a company sponsored security clearance. A security clearance is like a background check. It is required for individuals who are hired for US government jobs or any organization that handles information pertaining to national security. The security clearance process ensures your ability to securely access, manage, and protect classified information. Although the security clearance process involves several stages, the key steps to obtaining and maintaining a security clearance are pre-investigation, investigation, adjudication, and reinvestigation.
