JOB DESCRIPTION:
Durable medical equipment company looking for a qualified person to preauthorize commercial, work comp and auto insurance benefits. Preauthorizer will contact insurance companies to verify benefits and maintain insurance call logs in patients records.

This is a part time position Monday-Friday 9am-3pm or 11am-5pm.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS (ABILITIES & SKILLS):
1. Proficient/knowledgeable in medical terminology.
2. Proficiency in operating a standard desktop and Windows-based computer system, including but not limited to, electronic medical records, email, Google Sheets and computer navigation. Ability to use other software as required while performing the essential functions of the job.
3. Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms, including proper phone etiquette.
4. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment; courteous and friendly demeanor.
5. Ability to cross-train in other areas in order to achieve smooth flow of all operations.
6. Good organizational and time management skills to effectively juggle multiple priorities, time constraints and ever-changing medical situations.
7. Ability to exercise sound judgement and problem-solving skills.
8. Ability to handle patient and organizational information in a confidential manner.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: At least one year experience with verifying commercial insurances.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
