POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for providing clerical assistance to the Human Resources Department and assists human resources staff with implementing all organizational programs.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Associate degree in human resources preferred or relevant experience.

Experience:

  1. Two (2) years' experience as a Human Resource Assistant.
  2. One (2) year experience with an HRIS database.
  3. One (2) year experience with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Skills and Abilities which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:

  1. Good oral and written communication skills, along with good computer skills.
  2. Ability to be detail oriented.
  3. Knowledge of human resource procedures including personnel policies and procedures, and benefits.
  4. Ability to handle confidential information and maintain and research personnel files and records.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills; works to maintain constructive working relationships.
  6. Ability to complete work in a timely, accurate, conscientious, and thorough manner.
  7. Knowledge of labor laws and employment equity regulations.
  8. Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, and related business and communication tools
  9. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Transportation Requirement: Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Essential Functions

  1. Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  2. Writes and edits correspondence.
  3. Assist with the recruitment process by identifying qualified candidates.
  4. Responsible for onboarding and training of temporary employees and students
  5. Maintains and post department policy and procedures on the company's intranet page, bulletin boards and the department's shared drive.
  6. Maintain digital and electronic personnel records required by law or local governing bodies.
  7. Manage routine correspondence and requests for personnel information.
  8. Enter data into HRIS as required and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
  9. Assists with various HR programs, procedures, and projects.
  10. Assists with educating employees and enforcing organizational policies.
  11. Backup for processing background checks for new hires
  12. Assist with new hire orientation.
  13. Assists with service awards and other forms of recognition.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Marginal Functions: Assists in organizational training and development efforts.
