Housekeeping Inspector

Description

The Housekeeping Inspector is an important role in the delivery of the Guest experience. Responsible for flushing the water system and thoroughly inspecting each guest room after it has been serviced by a Guest Room Attendant, ensuring it meets property standards for cleanliness and maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Runs the shower and sink.
• Flushes the toilet.
• Conducts daily inspections of all assigned rooms; ensures proper use of all equipment and supplies issued. 
• Checks inventory in rooms such as linen, remote controls, dishware, paper products, appliances, etc. Reports any missing inventory.
• Examines carpets, drapes, and furniture for stains, damage or wear. 
• Train and coach Guest Room Attendants and Porters as necessary, ensuring they perform in accordance with property standards. 
• Records inspection results and notifies Guest Room Attendant and Houseking Manager of inadequacies. 
• Reports to Status Board Operator any leftover rooms, late service requests, late check-outs, etc. 
• Reports any maintenance requests following department procedures. 
• Will help clean rooms if necessary.
• Properly use, secure and return all department keys on a daily basis.
• Report all lost and found items to Security. 
• Other related duties as assigned. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED required. Minimum one year experience in a similarly sized property’s Housekeeping department strongly preferred. Guest Room Attendant experience preferred. 

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:

None

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Must be able to effectively communicate in English. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  

COMPUTER SKILLS

Must have Microsoft Office experience and basic computer skills capable of navigating through computer applications.
