Affirm is seeking a visionary Director to lead our Places & Experiences team. This leader will be responsible for reimagining the team's strategies to create inspiring spaces that offer innovative experiences to support our Affirmers, whether they choose to work from the office or home. They will be creating and maintaining an engaging, secure, and innovative work environment that fosters creativity, connection & focus. A key focus will be on strategic innovation to reduce friction and eliminate barriers in a remote-first setting with a distributed global workforce. What You’ll Do
Equity Grade - 12
Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.
Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)
USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $230,000 - $310,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $203,000 - $283,000

Affirmers in proximal roles have the flexibility to work remotely, but will occasionally be required to work out of their assigned Affirm office. What You’ll Do
- Lead Affirm’s global real estate, workplace, safety, & events strategy to support our remote-first operating model
- Establish strategic plans and objectives in collaboration with other senior leaders, making final decisions on operational matters to ensure effective achievement of objectives across the Real Estate & Workplace, Global Safety & Physical Security, and Community & Events subteams
- Strategically manage our real estate portfolio to optimize value and accommodate continued employee growth
- Deliver new offices and renovate existing offices that meet our design standards and allow Affirmers to work together, no matter where they are located
- Oversee the planning and execution of in-office, virtual, and some large functional and regional events for the company; developing objectives and strategies for the overall effectiveness and execution of events
- Recommend and implement changes, overseeing the development and implementation of Affirm’s strategy related to how we work, health and safety programs, and event planning
- Partner closely with with key stakeholders and leadership to evolve our remote-first model
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed; up to 20%
- 15 years of progressive experience in real estate, workplace and/or facilities leadership positions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Subject matter expertise in managing a global real estate portfolio and developing innovative workplace solutions
- Deep knowledge of safety & physical security measures
- Proven experience in designing and overseeing both in-person and virtual experiences for a distributed, global, and remote workforce
- Ability to influence, engage and partner closely with the appropriate stakeholders across all levels of the organization in planning, change management, and implementation
- Excellent business acumen; strong analytical and conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills
- Strong financial management skills including procurement, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and contract negotiations
- Highly effective verbal and written communications skills; able to distill complex concepts/information to employees and Senior Leaders alike
- Proven ability to grow and develop others to reach their full potential
- Experience with M&A; due diligence, and integration plans/delivery a plus
