AFFOA is seeking a Senior Accountant with Deltek Costpoint experience and sharp accounting skills to join our high performing, mission driven finance team. This is a full-time, hybrid position requiring two days on site each week at our Cambridge, Massachusetts headquarters.
Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant is an integral member of the finance team and is responsible for a wide variety of daily, weekly, and monthly accounting processes to include:
- Approves and posts A/P vouchers
- Creates ACH batches for payment
- Creates and distributes various weekly reports
- Reviews and processes expense reports
- Coordinates 1099 reporting
- Processes weekly timesheets and bi-weekly payroll
- Serves as main point of contact and partner to payroll vendor
- Responsible for daily cash reporting, various GL account reconciliations, monthly payables, journal entries, weekly labor reporting, and more
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 5-7 years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge and experience using Deltek Costpoint
- Strong knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel
- Strong logic, analytical, and technical skills with focus on results
- Strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of non-profit and/or privately funded organization accounting practices, experience with small or start-up companies
