Responsibilities
- Leads a Quality Assurance Organization that is effective at ensuring compliance to all regulatory, customers and ISO mandated requirements.
- Sets goals, objectives and daily directives for direct reports including quality engineers and quality technicians. Collaborates with department heads to identify quality improvement goals and metrics for individual business unit departments.
- Keeps abreast of industry trends and leaders; implements best practices.
- Ensures compliance to QMS necessary to maintain IATF Certification and to meet industry requirements as defined by external customer base.
- Designs, implements and maintains QA policies, specifications, procedures, manuals, and instructions to support business processes.
- Manages the quality training program suited for all levels within the company. Collaborates with business unit leadership to ensure all compliance training and educational requirements of professional personnel are met.
- Coordinates product assurance programs to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products and drives continuous improvement programs for products, manufacturing and business processes.
- Manages Customer Complaint and Customer Quality Surveillance programs.
- Leads cross functional improvement projects and teams to achieve objectives on time and on budget
- Assesses cable related manufacturing processes for capability against product requirements
- Applies rigorous problem solving methods such as DMAIC to deliver tangible result
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to convey complex issues in simple terms to all levels of the organization
- Possesses well developed interpersonal skills with experience working in cross functional environments
- 10 years of Quality Assurance working experience
- 10 years working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with wire harnesses
- Training and experience with Six Sigma
- 5 years’ leadership and supervisory experience
- Minimum 3 years of management and project management experience
- 5 years of working knowledge with computer systems
- Fiber optics background preferred
- Bachelors Degree
- Preferred - Engineering or Related Discipline
