What are the responsibilities and job description for the Small Group Tutor position at AFOF?
K-8th Grade Tutoring Program – Reading and Math
The focus of the program is to provide K- 8th grade students with support in the academic areas of Reading and Math.
Structure: The program will operate as follows:
- Perform group tutoring session
- Tutoring sessions will take place 3 days a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) for 6 hours a day
- Sessions will be held from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm daily (time is TBD) with 30 minute lunch break daily
- Attendance will be tracked
- Academic progress will be tracked via mid-summer and end of summer reporting
- Growth in students’ skills will be evidenced by performance on a pre and post assessment
- Establish a “train the trainer” model with parents before conclusion of tutoring sessions to help parents work with their child to maintain their learnings/skills after tutoring ends
Dates: Tuesday, July 5, 2022 through Thursday, July 28, 2022
Days/Time: Sessions will be held from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm daily with 30 minute lunch break on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays each week
Tutor Rate: Tutors will be paid up to $25 a hour
Tutor Requirements: Must be currently enrolled to earn a bachelor's degree or hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or higher; Tutors must provide evidence of criminal background checks, child protection registry checks, and PPD test as required by the State of Delaware
REMINDER: Each tutor is responsible to provide evidence of criminal background checks, and child protection registry checks, and will meet all State of Delaware and Federal Drug & Alcohol testing requirements at their own expense.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
