The After School Enrichment Program (ASEP), also known as ASEP's is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. ASEP was founded in 1999 by Libby Albert, a former parent from McKinley Elementary School. ASEP has always provided a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for children as their parents go to work, school or seek employment. Comprehensive ASEP at McKinley is our all-in-one program were students are picked up, fed a healthy snack and taken care of, starting right after school until pick up at 6:00 pm.

Major Functions: Responsible for the overall development and management of the ASEP Human Resource Department.

Report to: Executive Director for all final Human Resource decisions (ex. Hiring, Termination, discipline process etc.)

General Duties:

  • Maintains work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Establish a recruiting, testing and interviewing program, conducting and analyzing exit interviews, recommending organizational and programmatic changes to leadership.
  • Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by working with and training mangers to coach line staff
  • Uphold ASEP disciplinary process for all employees by scheduling management conferences with employees, hearing and resolving employee grievances
  • Continuously counsel employees and supervisors through implementation of ASEP’s Staff Support Plan Process
  • Develop and manage evaluation process for Group Evaluation and Individual Evaluation
  • Ensuring legal compliances by monitoring and implanting applicable human resource federal, state and city requirements.
  • Oversight of contractors in partnership with Program Director (i.e Contracts, and Inventory, development and evaluation)
  • Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies)
  • Take responsibility for developing, updating and finalizing Employee Policies and Procedures.

Professional Development and Staff Appreciation/Motivation:

  • Organize and facilitate ASEP’s Professional Development Weeks for Managers and Line Staff
  • Organize and facilitate ASEP Staff Appreciation events
  • Arrange Trainings for Managers, Line Staff when needed or when requested
  • Develop and Create Trainings Hiring: Line Staff and Contractors
  • Attend job fairs at local colleges, universities, etc.
  • Schedule and conduct interviews' for all line staff hires
  • Set up new hire and responsible for complete onboarding process
  • Oversee training process and schedule for each employee by following the appropriate and updated on-boarding checklist. Ensure that each new employees receives all required training in including program overview, policies and procedures, classroom management handbook, schedule and health & wellness overview.

Culture:

  • Assist the leadership team with staff events (i.e. end of year celebration)
  • Use techniques and strategies to minimize work place conflict
  • Develop incentive and staff appreciation program
  • Develop and manage evaluation program and coordinate with incentive and staff appreciation program
  • Develop Policy and more general trainings outside of the scope of hiring, that help to manage and main ASEP’s Philosophy and culture.

Administrative Duties:

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to Executive Director and Program Director.
  • Training Site Coordinators on Workers Compensation Practices and Paperwork, make sure Site Coordinators have a list of Workers Compensation Hospital on site in case of an emergency.
  • Make sure each site is fallowing requirements of State and Federal Employee Notices
  • Provide staff with any request of their records such as copies of paystub, W-2, TB tests and/or Live Scan results.
  • Compile and maintain new hire PD Packets – provide and review with every new hire.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and/or 2 years experience in Human Resources.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Finger and Department of Justice clearance.

Pay: From $68,000.00 per year
