Regional Quality and Food Safety (QFS) Manager - Mendota, IL

We are seeking candidates for a full-time position as Regional Quality and Food Safety (QFS) Manager to join our Ridley Feed Ingredients (RFI) division headquarters located in Mendota, IL.

The position will have overall responsibility for Quality and Food Safety functions for the Mendota, IL manufacturing and distribution facilities, Appleton WI manufacturing facility, toll milling contractors and any future RFI facilities. Primary responsibilities for this position will be to:

• develop, maintain and implement updates to the Quality and Food Safety program for Ridley Feed Ingredient's manufacturing and distribution operations.
• develop, maintain and implement a Quality and Food Safety program specific for Ridley Feed Ingredient's companion animal and petfood products to a recognized petfood certification standard.
• work in liaison with the North American Corporate Food Safety and Quality department to ensure program alignment with regional and global systems.
• manage the onsite QFS team and their activities, ensuring compliance with food safety certifications and applicable regulations pertaining to the production, sale, identification and usage of animal food and health products.
• conduct internal GMP/food safety audits to ensure compliance with the Quality and Food Safety program and food safety certification(s) the facilities hold.
• identify deficiencies and, with management direction, ensure continuous improvement initiatives are achieved.

Qualified candidates must possess a college or university degree, preferably in the Animal Science field, with 1-3 years' prior pet food quality experience. Other requirements include skills in technical writing, public speaking, proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to travel to related facilities as required. Familiarity with the feed and/or premix industry, experience with HACCP and other petfood standard quality certifications, and demonstrable experience of effectively coordinating, supervising and developing a quality and food safety team are essential.
