A DAY IN THE LIFE OF OUR SR. FOOD SCIENTISTAs an important member of our R&D team, your day starts with organizing and prioritizing the weekly project load. You play a crucial role in planning, executing, and documenting activities that allow project obligations to be met while resolving technical challenges through collaboration with internal business functions.
In the laboratory, you manage scientific experiments and product development work by creating and modifying product formulations to meet project objectives. Your expertise in manipulating formula attributes, including flavor, texture/rheology, and visual aspects, contributes to the development of innovative product platforms within the market. Your role extends beyond the laboratory as you liaise with internal Litehouse departments, aligning and streamlining activities required for successful project execution.
Quantitative data collection is a significant aspect of your role. You manage and perform the collection of data, interpreting and analyzing it to provide valuable insights for development projects and problem-solving scenarios. Your ability to apply strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills ensures efficient workflow management.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR OUR SR. FOOD SCIENTIST- Bachelor of Science or Food Science (B.S.) or High School diploma and Food Science Certificate with related experience.
- 3-5 years of related experience within an R&D product development group preferred.
- Working laboratory knowledge required, such as college, industry, and/or medical laboratory facilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on advanced SharePoint, Excel, and Word utilization.
- Working knowledge in Northwest Analytics, Genesis, TraceGains, and ERP-ROSS computer systems is required.
