AGCO is seeking a talented, passionate, and highly motivated professional to join the Engineering team as a Design Engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for mechanical design of products through product lifecycle, including concept, development, field installation, production launch, and service. Includes responsibility for bills of materials and 3D modeling of designs. Follows the leadership and coaching of Senior Engineers, Team Leader, and Engineering Manager. Demonstrates the ability to complete tasks and projects within a budget and deadline. Works well within the team setting, openly shares perspective in team meetings and contributes to discussions in a constructive manner. You will work onsite at our Taylorville, IL facility. This position is not eligible for relocation or sponsorship.

Your Impact

• Communicate with Team Leader, Engineering Manager, and Product Manager to understand and verify product requirements and cost targets, analyze and identify risks
• Prepare concept, design, development, and feasibility studies of complex engineering projects and create 3-D models using Creo software
• Perform design calculations and necessary analysis, including computer simulations and coordinate/perform product tests on concept and prototype builds
• Keep abreast of the latest technological advancements and prepare design concepts and design features that are often able to be patented to gain a competitive advantage in the market
• Work closely with other company departments, such as Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Technical Service, etc.

Your Experience and Qualifications

• BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
• 2-5 years of experience of design/product engineering
• Understanding and appreciation of mechanical design and engineering best practices, utilizing 3D modeling for various materials and manufacturing processes
• Strong time-management and creative problem solving skills
• Strong Windows and Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
