The Job: Instructional Designer
The instructional designer will design, create, update, and maintain online training modules, instructional videos, and other learning materials for a range of audiences. Using your creativity, you will create training that draws enthusiasm and engagement from trainees while they learn difficult and complex topics. You will gather feedback and data on the efficacy of the current material and seek continual improvement to maximize user enjoyment and understanding of the subject matter.
Job Responsibilities
- Create training modules, videos, and other instructional materials to meet the needs of internal and external audiences
- Update and maintain materials based on user feedback, completion and retention data, and updates and changes to the software
- Proactively seek avenues for improving training, including method of delivery, a mix of media, organization, and structure of information, and more
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to identify and meet training needs
- Assist trainees in completing the training by answering questions and troubleshooting technical difficulties
- Follow branding guidelines and standards to ensure content is professional and consistent with corporate look and feel for external audiences
Required Qualifications
- 4 or more years of professional experience working with training materials
- Skilled, clear, and concise communicator
- Comfort giving and receiving feedback
- Knowledge of adult learning methodology and best practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Evolve, Confluence, and ProProfs LMS, a plus
- Experience with video capture and editing software such as Camtasia
- Customer service skills and friendly bedside manner when helping trainees
- Takes initiative and is proactive in identifying gaps and finding solutions
- Professional certification in instructional design
