The Quality Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Quality department. Under the direction of Director, Quality and Compliance, the Quality Manager ensures focus on quality services based on data and serves as a change agent to drive improvement activities in real time. Additionally, this position develops and disseminates a philosophy of Quality that ensures a system-wide, consistent approach to care delivery, improving patient and family satisfaction, and demonstrating our commitment to patients, families, partners, and visitors. This Registered Nurse oversees Employee Health and Infection Prevention. This position can be full time in office or hybrid.
Responsibilities:
Quality Program Oversight
- Manages Agrace’s QAPI Program by strategically developing and implementing Quality AIMS and leading the Agrace QAPI Committee to ensure execution of performance improvement projects to achieve Agrace’s annual AIMS.
- Manages the development and implementation of the additional Quality Programs by identifying, developing and articulating opportunities for improvement and workflow changes that affect the delivery of service, positively impact patient/family satisfaction and promote a culture of quality and service.
- Communicates team progress and results of efforts to sponsors, QAPI Committee, Agrace employees, and other stakeholders.
- Establishes mechanisms to evaluate the success of short-term and long-term quality and service initiatives.
- Develops programs, education and coaching for managers and staff to reinforce quality and service standards.
- Oversees the analysis and response to all patient/family concerns and adverse events.
- Manages the design, development, implementation and reporting of all patient & family experience surveys, as well as develops a means to measure performance and demonstrate improvements in clinical practice across settings.
- Coordinates and facilitates the Hospice Item Set (HIS) data completion and submission to CMS, as well as educates staff on reporting requirements and timeframes for completion.
- Manages the implementation and ongoing administration of the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Hospice Survey and ensures accurate CMS reporting requirements are met.
Compliance Support
- In collaboration with the Compliance Team, provide education and direction to Agrace staff.
- Coordinate responses to findings from internal and external monitoring and audit activities.
- Assist in drafting correspondence to patients and families when compliance issues are involved.
- Assist in investigation process for patient/family concerns and adverse events.
Infection Prevention, Employee Health, and Safety
- Manages the infection prevention and employee health program with the goals to limit the spread of illness and ensure the safety of staff.
- In collaboration with employee health and human resources staff, assist employees with workplace accommodation requests.
- Manages reports of communicable diseases to the appropriate local public health agency and maintains required records.
- Develop, implement, and review infection prevention materials, policies, procedures and protocols.
- Participate in the Safety Committee Conduct studies and implement programs to ensure a safe environment for staff, patients and families or other visitors.
- Maintain awareness of current local, national and international issues related to infection prevention, employee health, safety, and emergency planning, including legislation (OSHA, EPA, DNR), accrediting body and other regulatory requirements.
- Participate in Emergency Operations Plan/Program
- Delegate appropriate tasks to the Infection Prevention staff
Manage Staff
- Hire, train, engage and retain department staff.
- Assign, direct and verify the work of direct reports.
- Assess staff performance and provide feedback, coaching, correction and development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- ADN required, BSN preferred
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nursing License in state of employment
- Two (2) years of project management experience with demonstrated background in managing large, organization-wide projects.
