ABCD has provided services to migrant, seasonal, and local farm workers’ children as well as other urban and rural low-income families since 1946. As a non-profit provider of comprehensive child development services for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, the agency serves on average over 1,200 children in nineteen rural New York State counties.

ABCD has a current and immediate opening for a fulltime Education/Disability Coordinator in our Center.
General role:
Under the direction of the Center Director, promotes the theories and principles of child growth and development, early childhood education, and family support. Puts into practice theories and sound principles of child education.

Education / Experience Requirements*:
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development: or bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 6 college courses (2-3 credits each) in Early Childhood Education or Child Development – AND – two years working with young children.
Knowledge of Early Childhood Education best practices; experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of child development programs.
Experience working with children with disabilities and their families as well as knowledge of the Early Intervention and Preschool Special Education Programs and services.

Responsibilities: *
Ensure the implement of Creative Curriculum with fidelity and monitor center’s Creative Curriculum.
Establish a collaborative partnership with teaching staff to support use of effective teaching practices that lead to positive outcomes for children.
In conjunction with the Center Director, provide regular onsite coaching to classroom staff by setting goals, conducting focused classroom observations and engaging in reflective feedback. Ensure Intensive Coaching opportunities identified through the processes (teacher self-assessment, interview, and data results).
Responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting of school readiness data and using that data to guide planning, instruction and continuous program improvement.
