What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC/Lathe Operator position at Agri-Fab, Inc.?
Purpose:Primarily sets up a wide variety of machines, generally for other operators to run, or sets up and runs Lathes and/or Makino Machining Centers, or may set up and modify programs for Robotic Welders and manual welding set ups. May also operate machines and/or handle material for operators.
Position Prerequisite:
Must meet the following requirements:

3. Actively participates in training; stays current and in compliance with required annual safety training.
4. Supports manufacturing improvement programs and initiatives. Offers and helps implement improvement suggestions.
5. Maintains a clean, orderly and safe working environment; wears and utilizes all PPE required for each job.
6. Follows standard work and work instructions.
7. Displays a high degree of attention to detail.
8. Displays appropriate sense of urgency in communicating concerns (safety, quality, etc.).
9. Cross-trains in order to perform all tasks in job rotation.
10. Works overtime, including weekends and holidays, as required.
Essential Functions
Required but not limited to:
1. Performs basic equipment maintenance and daily safety checks as prescribed.
2. Mounts, installs, aligns, and secures tools, attachments or fixtures to machines using hand tools and precision measuring devices.
3. Sets up machines and makes adjustments to machine parameters.
4. Makes necessary adjustments to machine controls, material and processes to provide the desired results.
5. Monitors machines and takes corrective action as needed.
6. May help instruct operators on proper machine operation, process sheet completion, and reading blueprints or bills of material.
7. Assures that the proper material is available, including material handling as needed.
8. Assures pieces and material received for processing and removed after processing are tagged with correct count and identification number, without multiple tags.
9. Manually or with hoist or crane: loads, unloads, and adjusts placement in the machine of material and work pieces to be processed.
10. Following prescribed frequency, measures dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
11. Maintains work area.
12. Meets or exceeds production rates and quality standards.

a. Accurately adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides.

c. Successfully completes training or demonstrates proficiency in blueprint reading.

4. Physical Requirements and Manual Dexterity
a. Constant standing throughout shift, with occasional walking.

c. May lift up to 40 pounds on an intermittent basis.
d. Effective use of appropriate basic hand tools.
5. Computer skills
a. Uses Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and business operations software (MTMS/ Webclient).
Work Environment
