NOW HIRING: Precision Ag Sales Specialist
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Precision Ag Sales professional to join our team. The Precision Ag Salesperson will be responsible for driving sales of precision agriculture products and services to farmers and agricultural businesses. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of precision agriculture technologies, excellent sales and communication skills, and a passion for promoting innovative solutions in the agricultural industry.
Responsibilities:
Sales and Business Development: Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets for precision agriculture products and services.
Identify and prospect potential customers, including farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and agribusinesses. Build and maintain relationships with existing customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business. Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the benefits of precision agriculture technologies.
Product Knowledge and Expertise: Stay updated on the latest precision agriculture products, technologies, and industry trends. Develop a deep understanding of the features, functionalities, and applications of the products and services offered. Educate customers on the value and benefits of precision agriculture solutions for their specific needs and operations.
Customer Consultation and Needs Assessment: Conduct in-depth discussions with customers to understand their agricultural challenges and goals. Provide expert advice and recommendations on the most suitable precision agriculture solutions to meet customer needs. Perform on-site assessments and evaluations to gather data and analyze field conditions for precision agriculture implementation.
Proposal Development and Pricing: Prepare detailed and customized proposals, including product recommendations, pricing, and implementation plans. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and competitive pricing for precision agriculture products and services. Present proposals to customers, address any questions or concerns, and negotiate contracts and terms as needed.
Relationship Management and Customer Support: Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing ongoing support and guidance throughout the sales process and beyond. Coordinate with internal teams, such as technical support and customer service, to ensure timely resolution of customer inquiries or issues. Foster long-term relationships with customers to drive customer loyalty, referrals, and repeat business.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven track record of success in sales, preferably in the agricultural industry or selling precision agriculture products/services.
- Strong knowledge of precision agriculture technologies, such as GPS/GNSS systems, remote sensing, variable rate technology, and data management platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish relationships with customers.
- Strong consultative selling skills, with the ability to understand customer needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
- Ability to work independently, set priorities, and manage time effectively to achieve sales targets.
- Familiarity with CRM software and sales tools for pipeline management and reporting.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and industry events as required.
- Passion for agriculture and a genuine interest in promoting sustainable and innovative practices in the industry.
