POSITION SUMMARY

The Agronomy Business Associate is a support position to the agronomy business and sales teams. This position is a development role opportunity. This position is focused on the growth and development of skills necessary to be a successful agronomy professional within the assigned territory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generates new sales contacts through sales calls with assistance from the Sales Manager, Location Leadership, and Sales Agronomists.
  • Responsible for agronomy operational duties assigned by Area Manager. Including scouting fields and making recommendations with the assistance of Area Sales Team.
  • Assist and drive efficiency in the dispatch of custom application equipment through increased communication between sales, operations and central dispatch.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations, requirements, policies and procedures, including OSHA regulations, the Vehicle Policy and Fleet Safety Program, and DOT regulations.
  • Maintains company facilities, personal workspace, company equipment, and company vehicles; performing cleaning and maintenance to maintain a clean and safe environment for customers and co-workers.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations, requirements, policies and procedures, including OSHA regulations, the Vehicle Policy and Fleet Safety Program, and DOT regulations.
  • Demonstrates full knowledge of and enforces the cooperative’s credit policy.
  • Maintains company facilities, personal workspace, company equipment, and company vehicles; performing cleaning and maintenance to maintain a clean and safe environment for customers and co-workers.
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Agronomy; or an Associate’s Degree (A.A.) in Agronomy from a two-year program preferred; or one (1) year related experience and/or training.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • English Proficiency.
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator.
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above).
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts.

  • Crop Advisor Certification
  • CDL

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
