The Ahern Hotel & Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, is seeking an Event Sales Manager to join our team!
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Event Sales Manager is responsible for selling meeting space, guest rooms and other services to customer groups, managing accounts, and soliciting and generating business.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Solicit and generate business. Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current and potential clients.
Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented.
Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.
Prepare and present effective proposals, maintaining well organized documentation and reports.
Participate in and lead event meetings, sales and other staff meetings.
Conduct site inspections throughout the hotel.
Work as a team member with the sales and catering staff and is in close contact with other support staff.
Represent the hotel at trade shows, setting up exhibits as required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Must have 3-5 years of hotel sales experience.
Must have selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training.
Refined verbal and written communication skills.
Able to thrive and assist others in a fast-paced environment.
Must be proficient in general computer knowledge.
Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
For Full-Time employees, expect to work an 8-hour shift on average, including weekends and holidays.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
