Ahern Rentals is looking for a Paint Prep & Sander to prepare equipment and other surfaces for painting by using D.A.Sanders, Scrapers, and removing old paint. They will sandblast the equipment, prep it ready for paint. This will include masking/taping off electrical wires, hydraulic lines, and Non-painted components. And will assist the Painters with various tasks.

Qualifications for Paint Prep & Sander:
- 2 years Automotive painting or Industrial
- Painting experience required
- Reliable transportation and clean driving record
- Ability to complete projects on time and on-budget
- Excellent communication and team-building skills
Responsibilities for Paint Prep & Sander include but are not limited to:
- Set-up working area (layout floor covering)
- Operate lifting or moving devices to move equipment or materials to access areas to be painted
- Bleed out an air compressor to assure there is no moisture and let compressor continue to run to build up air (to avoid water damage on the air tools)
- Lubricate all air tools
- Remove decals and adhesive with recommended solvent before the sanding process
- Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust from equipment surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, washing tanks, or sandblasters.
- Taping/Masking preparation.
- Fill small dents or scratches with body fillers and smooth surfaces to prepare equipment for painting.
- Spray prepared surfaces with specified amounts of primers and finish coatings.
- Clean equipment and work areas
- Collect all tools and place them back in the proper toolboxes
- Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner
- Must wear proper PPE (fresh air respirator, painting overalls, etc.)
