Operations Production Manager
AI Innovations is a wholesale only sign, channel letter, and awning manufacturer that serves retail sign and awning companies across the U.S. since 1999. We are now one of the largest wholesale-only sign designer, fabricator, and manufacturer in the country by both square footage and employee manpower. We serve customers nationwide from our two locations near Indianapolis, Indiana and Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and motivated professional to join our team as the Operations Production Manager. The Operations Production Manager should have proven success leading production departments, handle high pressure, work in a fast-paced environment, and be motivated to make improvements while maintaining project schedules to drive projects to completion.
Job description
· Oversees operational systems, processes, and infrastructure while looking for opportunities of improvement or revision.
· Anticipates and tracks operational and tactical risks and provides strategic solutions.
· Manages day to day business of the operations department while balancing the responsibilities of various business lines such as business analysis, vendor, and risk management.
· Work closely and partner with Human Resources focusing on culture, onboarding, retention, turnover, compensation, and training.
· Works with sales teams to help set and meet daily and quarterly goals.
· Plays a significant role in long-term planning, project status reporting, and implementing change control processes.
· Oversees and reports weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics.
· Identifies trends and assess opportunities to improve processes and execution.
· Addressing operational concerns and issues, monitoring overall customer satisfaction.
· Developing and implementing operational procedures and policies.
· Analyzing training needs/requirements.
· Excellent interpersonal communication and organizing skills to coordinate project activities.
- Responsible for all department managers and supervisors, with review/approval responsibility for all operations employees.
- Develop and build a strong team of subordinate managers who collaborate and communicate effectively
- Run a safe, injury/accident-free workplace
- Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings
- Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline employees
- Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions
- Has a strong understanding of custom manufacturing and fabrication preferably in the sign, automotive, or steel industry.
Qualifications / Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in program management, business or public administration, technical management, information systems, engineering, finance/accounting, or related fields.
· Minimum of 10 years of recent overall project management experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Equivalent experience may be considered if demonstrated increased depth of knowledge and responsibility.
· A Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) can be used in lieu of the educational requirements.
- Strong team-building skills to develop subordinate managers is a must.
