Summary of the role
Plan and assist in executing the editorial development of auditing and accounting guides and other technical publications that meet the competency needs of CPAs.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and review technical guidance to ensure it is conveyed in a consistent and easily understood way to serve competency needs of CPAs.
- Manage and strengthen relationships with, as applicable, internal technical subject matter experts, expert reviewers, technical committees (including the Auditing Standards Board and the Audit Issues Task Force), and regulators to ensure accurate, on-time development of technical content.
- Ensure publication and guide authoring and updating progresses according to the content development schedule and budget.
- Work with a cross functional team to drive growth in technical publications sales and licensing revenue.
- Participate in revenue and cost of goods sold (COGS) budgeting.
- Work with Operations and Writing teams and others to identify and secure contractors for product development as needed.
- Project management skills in a high pressure, high productivity setting with ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple business relationships and resolve conflicting priorities of a member organization in a win-win manner.
- Ability to work with complex technical topics, keeping user needs in mind.
- Ability to develop and leverage a network of prominent professionals for use in product development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with regulatory stakeholders, standard setters, internal and external subject matter experts and influence decision-making where appropriate.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in publishing, editorial development, technical writing, or related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in delivering complex technical editorial projects on time and on budget
Preferred experience
- Demonstrated experience in publishing across multiple platforms and content types
- Experience in accounting, finance, legal, or professional services publishing.
- Accounting and/or audit subject matter expertise in at least one of the following areas: Banking, Securities, EBP/Government, Valuation/Forensics.
- PMP qualification
