Air Academy Federal Credit Union (AAFCU) is in search of the next Chief Experience Officer (CXO) to lead our operations team and serve the needs of our membership at our Corporate Headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This position has a seat at the table.  

Reporting to the CEO and collaborating with our executive team and staff, the CXO contributes to the overall success of AAFCU by executing the operations plan to support AAFCU’s strategic and operating plans. This position provides a great opportunity for a motivated individual with strong interpersonal communication and collaborative competencies, who can adapt to the changing needs of the financial service industry. Primary Responsibilities

Participates with the Executive Team and Board of Directors in strategic planning, organizing, coordinating, and controlling the credit union's corporate and operational business affairs and then supports and executes on these values, strategies, and goals. 

  • Works directly with the Chief Strategy Officer to develop strategy and tactics to execute on the credit union’s business priorities and strategic plan. 
  • Is accountable for the following: 
    • For service delivery functions of the credit union, including branch, electronic, and contact center to provide products and services to members. 
    • For delivery of lending functions of the credit union, including consumer, mortgage, and business lending products and services to members. 
    • To execute and deliver on annual credit union business priorities. 
  • Develops operational policies and practices for each department and departmental function and maintains a management information system capable of ensuring the consistent application of policies and practices in all departments and all processes.
  • Coordinates the priorities of staffing, service development emphasis, member service and product delivery control, and maintains a program of ongoing exceptional quality.
  • Ensures a continuous program of education, training, and development is always ongoing, in every department, to maintain knowledgeable staff and the highest level of competent service delivery to members.
  • Develops annual plans in support of organizational strategy and objectives in delivery and lending. Directs implementation and execution of policies and practices to deliver products and services to members. Ensures communications are coordinated to support credit union objectives.
  • Provides leadership in the development and acquisition of members and business. Maintains positive working relationships with business partners. Provides leadership and support for the design, development and implementation of products and services. 

Job Requirements:

  • Leadership, coaching, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven track record of execution of strategic plans/objectives and business priorities.
  • Exhibits strong executive presence and ability to effectively mentor and develop staff to achieve organizational objectives and personal professional goals. 
  • Ability to build partnerships with internal and external staff and organizations.
  • Strong interpersonal communication (verbal and written, detail, and organization skills).
  • Master’s degree is expected. Bachelor’s degree in related field and four or more years related experience in similar capacity in banking/financial services or similar industry.  

Additional Information:

The pay ranges represent the low and high end of the salary range for this position. The offer will be based on the candidates experience and qualifications.  

  • Pay Range for this position is $150,000 - $250,000
  • This position is eligible for annual corporate bonus and incentives based upon performance.
