Director, Finance

Overview

We are looking for a Director, Finance to join our team. This role in the interim, will report to our Director, Product & Operations and ultimately our CFO. Ideal candidates will have substantial fund-raising experience – Series A through C rounds, IPOs or SPACS and managing investor relations. This person will have also developed and overseen all accounting and financial controls with experience in both small and large scale companies. This person will play an integral role in providing strategic financial advice maintaining financial discipline for Air Company’s high growth business.

Job Requirements

• Support Air Company leadership with developing a robust financial strategy

• Partner cross functionally with departments including but not limited to, creative, product, people and operations to provide critical financial support, through reporting and recommendations that facilitate and shape key decision making.
• Participate and lead the refresh of Air Company’s strategic financial plan

• Own all financial modeling for both internal budgeting and forecasting to support the business units as well as external facing models to support fundraising. This will involve developing annual operating forecasts and ten-year financial plans.
• Lead and hire a finance team

• Develop frameworks, build reporting and  comprehensive spreadsheet models to enable frequent evaluation of different market and business assumptions to support business growth

• Support Air Company leadership with fundraising efforts, this includes:

• Ensuring the Air Company financial model is prepared for external use when required
• Ensuring the Air Company pitch deck has the latest financial information and is in sync with all forecasts developed by the finance team
• Develop capitalization plan and strategy for both equity and debt funding opportunities that supports Air Company’s growth forecast

• Own and manage cash from any outside grants or funding

Preferred Skills

• BS Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent; MBA preferred
• 8 years of increasing responsible financial roles
• Fundraising skills are a must
• Excellent mathematical and analysis skills
• Proven leader with experience in building and managing high performance teams
• Good communicator – employees, leadership, investors
• Strong creative skills to develop new and innovative solutions
• Ability to work proactively and independently with an energized team
• Team player
