Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?The Production Technician position is responsible for day to day operations of the Bloomington ASU plant located in Bloomington, TX. The primary responsibility of the production technician will be the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the air separation units as part of a rotating shift schedule. This role is also a safety leader for the site responsible for safe work permitting, performing equipment lock out, and completing safety inspections among other responsibilities to support the operations of the facility.- Demonstrates an overall understanding of plant safety rules, regulations, and company safety policies/procedures.
- Works safely in all situations, active participant in facility safety meetings, and instills safety in others by being safety minded.
- Identifies potential maintenance needs: enters them into the work order maintenance management system (Maximo).
- Performs all work in compliance with standard operating and maintenance procedures, utilizing current Life Safety Training skills and safety requirements including, safe work permits, energy control isolation and IDLs, confined space entry work, hot work, work plans, pre-job discussions, plant safety inspections, etc.
- Ensures contractors, visitors, co-workers and others follow company safety policies/procedures. Issues safe work permit documentation and performs lock-out tag-out of equipment.
- Acquires knowledge/ability in all plant operations including processes and equipment.
- Exhibits some instrumentation and mechanical aptitude.
- Learns and follows standard operating procedures, corporate procedures: read and interpret blueprints, flow charts, process piping, ISOs, simple schematics, P & IDs, electrical schematics, and perform basic math operations.
- Study/maintain site-specific standard operating procedures, P&IDs, PFDs, all other technical documentation as relates to operational/equipment processes.
- Calibrate all plant process analytical equipment.
- Load and unload cryogenic transports as necessary.
- Keep accurate records and be diligent in documentation and record retention policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates knowledge/understanding of control board and operator interface computer consoles.
- Acquire knowledge and ability in all plant operations including processes and equipment.
- Perform operator rounds, water samples, truck loading, operations PMs.
- Maintain and expect high housekeeping and organizational standards.
- Provide fill-in coverage for peers on vacation and serve in emergency shift relief as situations warrant.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of related operations experience .
- Knowledgeable of government regulations including environmental permitting and compliance, loading /quality assurance, basic electricity, National & Local Operating Procedures, CMMS and maintenance management process, and All HSE issues associated with the facility.
- Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints, flow-charts, process piping ISO's, simple schematics, P&ID's, electrical schematics, perform basic math operations, calibrate plant process analytical equipment.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of control-board and operations of operator interface consoles (computer).
- Demonstrate basic computer (PC) skills and ability to use required software computer applications
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders/stairs as required.
- Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including, hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and FRC clothing
- Must have a valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree preferred.
- Verifiable technical training or equivalent experience - such as military service.
- Experience working with instrumentation is a plus.
