This National Guard position is for a Information Security Specialist, Position Description Number D2138000and is part of the NJ 177th FTR WG, Air National Guard.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.
Qualifications:
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience, education or training that has provided analytical, decision making, or administrative skills which demonstrates the candidates ability to accomplish the work of an organization. This experience must demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively and successfully with others.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have 36 months of experience in the Security career field or intelligence career field:
Research and analysis reports on physical, information, computer, and personnel security
Conducting intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices that are necessary to accomplish intelligence functions in support of programs
Implementing policies and procedures required to manage sensitive compartmented information programs and to protect sensitive compartmented information resources
Maintain currency on a variety of different security program inter-relationships, requirements, regulations and guidance
Present detailed and comprehensive reports with consistent follow-up work to ensure complete and quality discrepancies resolutions improve quality, timeliness, and efficiency
Responsibilities:
As a Information Security Specialist, GS-0080-12, you will:
Provide threat briefings
Advise on programs to include physical security, information security, operations security, communications security, personnel security
Identify and analyze security requirements
Review specifications or proposed construction of facilities
Participate in security conferences and workshops
Recommend security improvements
Implement security regulations
Conduct scheduled and unscheduled security inspections
Alert personnel to the strict prohibition regarding improper use and abuse of the classification systems
Review procedures for safeguarding classified material
Prepare inspection reports
Review intelligence and counter intelligence reports
