THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a VICE AIR COMMANDER (Title 32), Position Description Number D1469000 and is part of the IL 183 WG, National Guard.
About the Position: Recruitment will continue until the position is filled. Applications will be pulled at the request of the hiring official and in the order received. The initial application cut off will be 13 January 2020.
Qualifications:
Military Grades: Officer Only - Minimum rank requirement of Officer Only - Minimum rank requirement of Lt Col with Air War College completed & May not exceed the rank of Col.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in managing or directing, one or more programs, including appropriate supporting service organizations. Supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work experience and/or training which has provided knowledge of management principles, practices, methods and techniques. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-14 Level - Must have at least 36 months experience analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various resources; Must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions.
SUPERVISORY POSITION SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the lower grade level in the Federal service in order to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities:
As a VICE AIR COMMANDER (Title 32), GS-0340-14, you will provide leadership and management of the unit, to provide manpower, equipment, and training in peacetime, in preparation to perform the wartime mission. You will be accountable with the Air Commander in complying with a wide variety of federal, state, and local authorities on all aspects of operations, personnel, equipment, funds, and real property in the accomplishment of duties.
