In this Project Engineer role you will be part of the project engineering management (PEM) team responsible for the engineering and design activities of our large capital projects. These projects range in sizes from ~$100MM to $6BN ; include technologies such as Gasification, CO2 sequestration, air separation, and gray, blue, and green H2; and have execution sites that span across North America. Reporting location is either Allentown, Pennsylvania or Houston, Texas. Hybrid working schedules are available.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordination of the Engineering activities on Large scale capital projects (Sale of Gas/Sale of Equipment)
- Coordination with all Lead engineers and designers working on the project to ensure timely Engineering delivery under schedule and quality constraints
- Coordination of various design reviews, tracking and expediting action close out
- Support PEM in evaluating changes that substantially impact the scope, budget, or schedule of a project
- Monitors progress and performance against the project schedule and raises timely flags
- Manages inter-disciplinary information flows, interfaces and conflicts
- Capable of foreseeing, analyzing and escalating issues arising from operations and resource constraints
- Developing supplements to work practices along with develops new practices under guidance of PEM/PM
- Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders
Principal Accountabilities
- Understanding of overall project Engineering and Design Execution Strategy
- Understanding of project specific instructions and procedures (if required)
- Consolidation of department engineering budgets and management of them during the project under PEM mentorship
- Coordination with internal engineering and design resources to produce engineering deliverables on schedule and within budget
- Resolution of conflicts between disciplines and facilitation of smooth flow of information
- Effective technical coordination with Clients or third-party representatives (as needed)
- Preparation of various project reports and presentations as guided by PEM / PM
- Compliance to project procedures and effective change management; raises flags for non-compliances
- Clearly identify, record, and communicate lessons learned for engineering
- Tracking of open actions / TQs etc. and co-ordinates for their close out
- Preparation of Engineering Close Out
Minimum requirements and qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering (preferably Mechanical);
- Min 8-10 years meaningful professional experience;
- Strong track record in the management of detailed engineering activities of process plants;
- Experience in Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC), Industrial Gases, Petrochemical projects or Oil&Gas
- Strong organizational, communication and facilitation skills;
- Good commercial awareness with ability to evaluate change
- Field Engineering experience is an added advantage
