Summary Description Of Position

The Liaison Engineer will act as a valuable link between all departments in regards to aircraft completion. The Liaison Engineer will be responsible in providing technical support and communication concerning production, fabrication, engineering, purchasing, and planning, as well as material control. The position requires a solid knowledge base in structural design and aircraft systems. This position will resolve issues from any department with regards to overall project completion. The Liaison Engineer must show strong cooperation with others and a desire to exchange information for overall success of projects.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field, which may include aeronautical, aerospace, civil, electrical, or mechanical.
  • An Aircraft and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic is a plus.
  • Direct and relevant work experience maybe substituted for academic accolades.
Major Responsibility Areas and Duties:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2005; minimum 3 years' experience with AutoCAD.
  • Two (2) years working in aircraft design or maintenance.
  • Coordinates activities to evaluate and resolve engineering-related production issues encountered in assigned area of the facility.
  • Confers with quality control, material, manufacturing, and other department personnel to provide technical support.
  • Interprets engineering drawings and facilitates correction on drawings and documents identified during production and manufacturing operations.
  • Investigates reports of defective parts, assemblies, equipment, or systems to determine nature and scope.
Additional Duties:
  • Maintains records or oversees recording of information by others to ensure engineering drawings and documents are current and that engineering-related production issues and resolutions are documented.
  • Serves as member of Material Review Board (MRB) to determine disposition of defective parts.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:

  • Normal office environment.
  • Ability to perform work utilizing a computer for extended periods of time.
  • May need to access areas of the aircraft.
