CAD Drafter I

The CAD Drafter I works closely under supervision, using various computer aided software’s such as Solidworks, Draftsight and SW PDM to create, modify, and update mechanical and electrical 3D CAD drawings.

Responsibilities:

Assists in the creation of new and modifications of existing engineering drawings.
Utilizes computer aided drafting software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings.
Transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software.
Assists in preparing drawings and schematics derived from variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches.
Maintains open and active communication to ensure accuracy of drawings.
Documents the design, development, and installation of electro-mechanical assemblies.
Assists in conducting electrical and mechanical design using 2D and 3D CAD software under engineering supervision.
Provides support to Mechanical and Electrical engineers for cable assembly designs.
Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
Maintains notes, design calculations, and other documentation (drawings, bill of materials, list of design parameters, and/performance guarantees) for future reference.
Ensures product designs meet required safety and structural standards.
Presents various design perspectives for improvements and adaptation.
Resolves discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs.
Provides drafting support to company departments in various forms.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Computer Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office. Efficient in computer-aided (CAD) software, Solidworks is preferred.
Experience working with Solidworks PDM

Certificates and Licenses:

CAD certificate is a plus
