Position Summary
Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly environment both inside and outside the facility. Perform project work as assigned. Perform administrative functions as required. Manage vendor and contractor relationships, and coordinate the maintenance of the building, grounds, and equipment and plant facilities.
Position Qualifications
The specific minimum competencies needed to perform the essential duties of the job include knowledge, skills, abilities, level of education, and experience necessary for successful performance. These competencies are generally demonstrated through specific service, education, or training.
Knowledge: Acquired through education, certifications, training, experience.
Knowledge of current OSHA, GMP’s, building code, health, and safety regulations, cleaning methods, procedures and products, occupational hazards and related safety precautions is required. Knowledge to include HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, and instrumentation preferred. Familiarity with FDA-regulated environment a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
Familiar with various hand and power tools common to area of responsibility. HVAC training and/or experience. Basic computer literacy with the ability to manage multiple projects. Ability to provide effective leadership, determine supply and equipment needs, and necessary skills for troubleshooting. Computer proficiency and basic math skills required.
Level of Experience:
5 years’ experience in facilities maintenance.
Level of Education:
High School graduate or equivalent. Vocational training beyond high school level strongly preferred. Valid MI Driver License.
Travel: Amount of travel availability required for position.
Occasional overnight travel up to 10%. Must be available 24/7 for emergency calls.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The core tasks, duties, and responsibilities that must be performed on the job.
- Manage internal facilities/cleaning function.
- Responsible for all facilities related equipment such as HVAC, air compressors, cooling towers, , etc.
- Responsible for general outdoor maintenance, including walkway, patios, snow removal of walkways, and building door security.
- Ensure the completion of all assigned Facilities cleaning schedules.
- Managing preventative maintenance schedule and outside contracted services.
- Ensure compliance with all ISO, GMP, OSHA, building code, health, and safety regulations.
- Ensure all assigned cleaning schedules are adhered to in accordance with procedure.
- Work with outside vendors and contractors, as necessary.
- Manage Grand Rapids pest control program and vendor.
- Manage cleaning company vendor and ensure accurate inventories of all department supplies and equipment as well as smocks, shoe covers and spare parts for facility related equipment.
- Serve as a primary member of the Emergency Coordinator team.
- Complete and maintain reports and other documentation as required.
- Ensure the department is compliant with company policies and procedures.
- Preventative maintenance on various warehouse and facilities equipment
- Other duties as required.
