What are the responsibilities and job description for the R&D Systems Engineering/Systems Analysis (Experience) position at AIS?
Passionate about your work and dream of improving national security capabilities? Join us to develop creative solutions to unique national security challenges!
We are seeking R&D Systems Engineers to join a dynamic team engaging in the portfolio of Mission System Engineering for our sponsors. We ensure that system architectures and systems properly support the national security missions for which they were designed. This is accomplished through deliberate planning, analysis, architecture, and integration of current and emerging capabilities. The successful candidate will join a team that conducts and supports analysis of remote sensing systems data, algorithm development, electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensor characterization and modeling & simulation.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.Sub-contractors are required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance and SCI access, both of which require US citizenship. SCI access may also require a polygraph examination. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain these levels of access may be impacted.
Applicants offered employment with sub-contractors are subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by the DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment.

On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Plan and complete major test activities, perform analysis of component and integrated system data for system requirements verification and validation, and engage with external Government and Mission partners.
- Conduct radiometric sensor test planning and execution.
- Collaborate to develop data analysis methods and tools and conduct mission data analysis.
- Perform remote sensing modeling and simulation, characterizing and optimizing sensing instrument performance, and technical analysis and design of next genera on systems and data architectures to meet overall system mission performance and operational goals and requirements.
