What are the responsibilities and job description for the EMT-Wellness position at Aisan?
JOB PURPOSE:
Independently observes and assesses worker's health status with respect to job tasks and hazards. Using specialized experience and education, recognizes and prevents health effects from hazardous exposures and treats workers' injuries/ illnesses. Supports and wellness program by tracking and presenting information to associates.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Support our wellness program. Includes making and delivering materials to associates on monthly basis. As needed follow-ups with associates to ensure they are following plan. Frequency on case by case basis.
2. Observe and assesses both worker and work environment using special knowledge of workplace hazards and relationship to associate health status to prevent work related injuries. Supports Ergonomic teams and Safety Task Force.
3. Uses understanding of industrial hygiene principles of engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment to prevent work related injuries
4. Interprets and evaluates associate’s medical and occupational history, subjective complaints, and physical examination, along with any laboratory values or other diagnostic screening tests, industrial hygiene and personal exposure monitoring values.
5. Interprets medical diagnosis to workers and their employers.
6. Appraises work environment for potential exposures.
7. Identifies abnormalities and corrects quickly.
8. Describes worker’s response to exposures to company and government representatives.
9. Manages and documents occupational and non-occupational illness and injury.
10. Reports work-related injuries or illnesses to worker’s compensation carrier. Manages worker’s compensation claims from initial report through final closure.
11. If needed on call, to support incidents on off-shifts that need direction for treatment options.
12. Assist in monthly random and reasonable suspicion for Drug Testing.
13. Filing of incident investigation reports and medical records.
14. New hire associate training for Safety and Environmental items as well as Human Resources policies. Includes DOJO items.
15. Safety and Environmental audits as scheduled.
16. On Call to communicate with First Responders when not on site.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Observes all safety rules to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.
Performs and maintains 5S activities to promote an orderly and safe workplace
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (Skills, Abilities, Training/ Education, and Experience)
Certificate/Degree in appropriate discipline
2 -5 years’ experience in an industrial environment.
EMT Basic or Equivalent.
CPR Certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires extensive standing, walking, sitting
Must be able to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
Able to lift up to 50 pounds
POSITION CONTACTS:
This position works with associates at all levels of organization. Outside contacts include worker’s compensation representatives, governmental representatives, doctors, consultants and temporary agency.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour
