Summary:
The Proposal Engineer is responsible for the development and management of technical and commercial proposals. The specific tasks may include design concepting, process engineering, technical writing, and establishing budgets, terms and conditions review and pricing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparing proposals for bids on new projects, including reviewing existing plans and researching potential challenges that could arise
Reviewing customer specifications and requirements for bid / no bid input recommendations
Communicating with customers to gather complete information to support proposal development
Support and participate in external and internal meetings and technical reviews
Developing proposal estimates for aerospace tooling and automated assembly systems (individual or grouped projects) with pricing aligned to current market conditions and competitive situation
Work with internal engineers and designers to develop and quote cost estimates based on customer specifications
Ability to multitask between multiple projects, meetings, and daily priorities within the group
Perform tasks as needed such as concepting proposal responses that satisfy customer purchasing specifications to ensure that requirements are met
Communicate with stakeholders (customer, management, team, resources, supplier) such that there is solid alignment and coordination
Be accountable for the on-time submission of all deliverables
Develop value-added technical propositions and proposal writing
Work cohesively with internal project team on any commercial needs or support once a project is kicked-off
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field or related experience, preferred
Technical knowledge of manufacturing/automation systems for aerospace
Two to Five years of design or process engineering experience or equivalent
Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements:
This position may require a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Creates and maintains complex files and written documents
A strong understanding and relevant experience in aircraft assembly and tool fabrication
Knowledge of ITAR regulations and previous experience in government and/or military flight operations exposure would be considered an asset

Works in a high energy, high volume, rapidly changing environment
Can multitask and manage multiple large to small projects in a cross functional environment
Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results
Displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner

Familiar with a variety of fabrication concepts, practices, and procedures
Has strong communication skills to ensure clear consistent and timely information sharing within the team and across functional areas
Basic knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances

Able to work independently and as part of a team
Able to learn, comprehend and explain product functionality and value proposition
You must have proficiency in MS Office to generate and give presentations to various levels in the company and or customer
