Aitkin County CARE, Inc.’s purpose is to enhance and promote the independence, dignity, value and well-being of aging adults, adults managing disabilities, and caregivers.
Aitkin County CARE Inc. partners with local government, businesses, nonprofits and the community to provide innovative and quality services.
Qualifications
· Associates Degree in communications, healthcare or other human services related or equivalent experience
· Valid Driver’s license with proof of auto insurance
· Excellent communication (written and oral) skills with aging adults
· Knowledge in family caregiving, care of aging person, home and community-based services, publicly funded programs and person-centered planning philosophy and processes
· Demonstrates ability to maintain confidentiality and use appropriate professional judgment based on best practices, ethical and legal considerations
· Demonstrates ability and knowledge in respecting the history, traditions, values and family systems of clients
· Must have a strong desire to assist and support organizations which collaborate with the older population
· Positive attitude and desire to work in a team approach setting
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds
· Must be willing to travel throughout Aitkin County
· Must be willing to complete training to become an IdentoGO representative, [training provided]
· Must be willing to obtain Notary Public
· Must be willing to learn about the Legal Kiosk Program
Responsibilities
Ø Acts as an ambassador for all CARE programs by providing information to community groups & senior facilities, faith communities, businesses, schools, etc.
Ø Implements the sustainability plan for the Care Resource Offices throughout Aitkin County from July 2024 to July 2025
Ø Recruits respite workers and homemakers as well as volunteers to provide services in their geographic area through outreach activities; making visitations and setting up meetings to share information.
Ø Complies and maintains records and information for grant and/or agency reporting
Ø Develops monthly newsletter to provide information to the public including clients
Ø Maintains the Aitkin County CARE website
Ø Regularly posts information on the CARE Facebook page.
Ø Manages and may facilitate Memory Support Group, Grief Support Group and Parkinson’s Support Group
Ø Distributes Aitkin Farm Fresh boxes in collaboration with Riverwood Healthcare Center
Ø Completes fingerprinting appointments on assigned days
Ø Serves as an assistant to clients utilizing the Legal Kiosk
Ø Answers phones and assists visitors as needed, receive client referrals from various agencies and community members; provide referrals based on one-to-one consultation services.
Ø Serves as the liaison to community organizations on behalf of CARE including but not limited to the Aitkin County Homeless Coalition, TRIAD and other entities per direction
Ø Support Executive Director with policies, procedures, best practices, training, and licensing requirements, as well as, other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
· Demonstrates passion for improving the quality of life for aging adults and disabled adults
· Self-directed and task orientated, able to prioritize to achieve organizational expectations
· Ability to effectively use office equipment (i.e. computers, fax machines, telephone)
· Knowledge of an ability to navigate social media platforms and familiarity with Microsoft office products as well as Canva

PAY: DOQ
HEALTH BENEFITS: $600 per month health insurance stipend
WORK HOURS: Monday – Friday with flexibility when needed
PTO: 0 days – 3 years 1 ½ days each month 12 hours a month
3-5 years 1 ¾ days each month 14 hours a month
5-10 years 2 days each moth 16 hours a month
10 years 2 ¼ days each month 18 hours a month
PAID HOLIDAYS: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving and Christmas
REQUIRED: Background Check for hiring
HIPPA and Mandatory Reporting Classes Passed
Federal Background Check to provide Finger Printing Services
